I failed to catch any news over the weekend and so was shocked when I read that J.K. Rowling, while speaking in Carnegie Hall, revealed on Friday that Albus Dumbledore is gay.
I'm in the "it adds a new dimension" camp, and it certainly explains some things, but I have to admit that my initial reaction was something like this:

That is probably why he dies in the second to the last book....the gay characters are always killed off first.
I have been meaning to read those Potter books for oh, 10 years or something but I've never gotten to it. This makes me want to read it now!
