The Mentalist is a new fall show starring Simon Baker as a detective/consultant who solves crimes using his super powers of observation. See Simon notices things, everything.
I'm going to give it a shot but I doubt this show is going to be any good. Curiously, I do think it will do well in the ratings, because really? What woman isn't going to want to tune in every week to see a man who pays attention? Add in the dash of rogue we're slated to see and I predict there will be a wave of wet panties from east to west as primetime moves across the nation.
There will also be a lot of fights picked in otherwise quiet homes.

Wow...I use to look just like him...when I had hair..and scruff....and a couple less chins...and nice clothes.

Alright, even if the plot is totally stolen, I have to admit it looks pretty good.

The premise of this show sounds exactly like the show Psych on USA. I've never watched it though.

Like mathdude said, isn't this just Psych with a healthy dose of Monk thrown in? Probably without the good writing?
I agree about the very dumb name The Mentalist. I saw an ad for this one the other day and thought to myself what a shitty name that was.
And this actor will forever be the dude in The Devil Wears Prada to me.
My prediction.. Strangely similair to The series "Psych" minus the comedy! Not sure if it will fly.
