Everything I Like Causes Cancer

Where we've been convinced to write a new post on Dec. 2. Stay tuned!

"A Mississippi woman who was shot in the head not only survived but made herself tea and offered an astonished deputy something to drink, authorities said Friday."

Now that's southern hospitality.  I bet it was even sassafrass tea.

I wonder if the officer was a dick and said, "As a matter of fact I do need a few more lumps"

I bet your just trying to finish Breaking Dawn. It's like a car wreck isn't it? You can't put it down but you can hardly bear to read it either.

I thought you were from Missouri, not Mississippi.

I am impressed with the quote from the story "You just don't hear of something like this. Somebody gets shot in the head and they're dead," Byrd said.

9 out of 10 doctors agree with Mr. Byrd, and the 10th doctor got his license from one of those off shore discount schools.

There's something healing in SASSafrass tea.

Or so I hear.

Sometimes, when my old lady doesn't serve me my tea fast enough, I threaten to shoot her in the head too.

I'm like, "Woman, get me my damn tea!"
And she'll go, "I ain't got time!"
Then I'm all like gonin', "Like hell. Get me my damn Earl Grey or I'll pop a cap in yer cranium!!!"

Then she usually gets me my tea. Then we do it.

Shots to the head are overrated.

i thought everyone could do that?!!

Ha! If this had happened in New York (okay, to me), the commentary would have been all..."clearly it's lucky she survived, because the bullet was already altering the personality [or more scientific brain term] section of her brain."

Awesome. I can't think of anything else to really say other than "awesome".

Making tea?! That's nutso. Any self-respecting person who gets shot in the head should be running around screaming obscenities at the top of their lungs in my opinion. Making TEA?! Good Lord.

I can't say sassafrass without sounding like a dork. That hefer is crazy strong. I would be all "OMG I got shot. IN MY HEAD! WITH A GUNNN!!!!"

I wish I could write something witty and funny here, but Chemgeek's comment has me busting up all over the place.

Wonder if her husband was wearing one of those sweet I <3 My Marriage t-shirts.

Too soon?

mjenks: It's never too soon here at EILCC.

If I was the cop, I would have held out for some pie, too. She was clearly adjusted to her new situation- she could have handled whipping up a pie.

Mississippi IS the hospitality state.

Whoa, that's weird. When I first read your headline, I thought it said, "A quickie, because I'm a BUSTY gal this week." It made worried for you in the week to come.
